The platform owned by Elon Musk is rebranding as X, and they made an effort to remove the previous company name from their offices on Monday.

Before the work could be completed, five letters were taken down from the large vertical sign.

Now, the sign merely displays "er," which reflects the surprise and confusion expressed by their users regarding the sudden corporate transformation.

Since 2012, Twitter has been headquartered in California, and its iconic sign has become a part of the local landscape.

X – The Everything App!
Twitter's new logo - an X on a black background - has replaced the famous blue bird on the social network, and was projected onto the side of the headquarters on Sunday.

Mr Musk says "tweets" will be replaced too, with posts to be called "x's" instead.

On Sunday, the billionaire said he was looking to change Twitter's logo, tweeting: "And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds."

Unauthorised Behaviour:
The well-known blue bird logo of Twitter has been replaced with an X on a black background on the social network, as the new logo was projected onto the side of the company's headquarters on Sunday.

Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of the platform, also announced that the term "tweets" will be replaced with "X's" for posts going forward.

In a tweet on Sunday, he expressed his intention to change Twitter's logo, stating, "And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds."

Ongoing Backlash:
Mr. Musk's recent move to alter Twitter's long-established name and bird logo, which had been recognised for over a decade, has received noticeable backlash from users.

The decision comes at a tumultuous time for the microblogging site, which has been facing challenges such as a significant drop in advertising revenue and legal disputes over unfulfilled severance payments and unpaid debts.

Last year, Mr. Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion, and shortly after the acquisition, the company underwent substantial downsizing, resulting in the termination of thousands of jobs.
